Stumping for President Bush on Election Day!

Walker and I spoke to voters and handed out stickers in front of our precinct on Tuesday - we got a terrific reaction from all the folks we spoke with and had a great time!

Outside the polls

Matt was supposed to take the picture from my hand down. Clearly he didn't :)

I'm Bushed!

Walker was a terrific campaign worker for about an hour - he smiled, he cooed, he showed off his Bush Chaney romper, and he really drew a crowd of adoring fans! Then he cuddled up with Mommy and fell asleep - his first political experience was a great one!

We're Republicans!!

Watching the returns with Daddy - the end of a long day for Walker.

After Walker and I finished campaigning at the poll near our house and voting, we came home so I could get cleaned up. Matt had class, so the two of us headed to the Jo Ann Davis (U.S. House of Representatives, VA, 1st District) Election Party where we mingled with fellow Republicans. Congresswomen Davis gave her victory speech and spotted Walker sleeping in my arms. Shortly thereafter, she made her way over to see him and complimented his attire (Bush Cheney '04 romper) and commented on how he was sleeping through all the hubbub. I told her that he was exhausted from campaigning for her and President Bush all day. We left a little while later when Matt got home so we could watch the returns as a family. All in all it was a great day - Walker's first brush with a United States Representative was a very proud moment for me!!

My First Halloween!!!!

Walker got dressed up for Halloween and handed out candy to two trick-or-treaters before we left. We made 3 stops and didn't tell them we were coming - this led to some great reactions (and great pictures of their reactions). We had SO much fun and it is absolutely awesome to know that this is only the first of many terrific holidays we'll spend with our little guy.

Off with my bib!

A good shot of the front of his costume.

I can fly!!!

Just getting some practice in before we head out.

Now we're off to...

This is the Cox's pumpkin - they are really talented carvers!!

First stop - Memaw and Pop's - surprise!

Memaw was shocked to find Walker trick-or-treating at her house!

Memaw is happy to see Superman

Walker with the Pops!

Come here Pop!!

Showing off my Supercape

There's my Daddy!!

Matt's dad was "flying" Walker up towards Matt and Walker LOVED it - he was smiling and laughing the whole time. Unfortunately, we didn't catch any of the big smiles, but it's a great picture nonetheless

Getting Tired - Out Comes the "Frowny Face"

Walker got the ability to make this pitiful face from his maternal grandmother "Grandmama" Ann Smith. It's so adorable that we just have to laugh every time he does it!

Second Stop - The Luckadoo's

Allison was shocked to see that it was her best guy Walker trick-or-treating at her house!! Matt did a great job of catching her reaction on film :).

Team Super

Third Stop - The Cox's

At this point, Walker was wiped out! He loved dressing up and flying around, but between the time change and the trick or treating, he was all tuckered out by 7:30. We had a great time with him on his first Halloween and next Halloween he'll have another friend to trick-or-treat with!! Patrick and Kelly Cox are expecting their first child - a girl - in late January!! We can't wait to meet Walker's girlfriend!! :)

Daddy's THIRTY!!!

Matt turned 30 on October 27th. We celebrated with a trip to his favorite restaurante - Plaza Azteca. Matt's parents and grandmothers joined us, as did the Coxes, Chappells, and Matt's brother Paul's girlfriend Sophie.

Happy Family :)

Help Daddy blow out the candles!!

Walker was great the whole evening - didn't utter a peep except when he was talking to the folks at the table behind us - they loved him!

Our celebrations are even better now that we have Walker here to share in them. He just makes everything happier and more exciting!
