What a weekend
The 1yr anniversary weekend is over and we are both at work. =( We had so much fun visiting Margaret's family and friends in South Carolina! Our stay at Middleton Place Inn was was earth shattering. ;) When we got home (after the 7hr drive) we decided to go visit my parents and break out the 1yr old wedding cake. When I opened up the foil wrapped goods, to our surprise it was fudge!! Someone mistakenly wrapped up fudge for us vs. our wedding cake. We were a tad disappointed but the fudge was great and I'm sure the cake wouldn't have been nearly as good.

What Matt failed to mention is that we hauled this "wedding cake" on our honeymoon in a cooler, put it in the freezer at the house we stayed in, packed it back up and brought it to Virginia. During Hurricane Isabel, we were without power for 10 days, and ice was very scarce. I grabbed our "wedding cake" and kept it in the cooler until our ice melted, then I took it next door to the neighbors who had a generator and asked them to keep it in their freezer for us. There was a lot of effort put into making sure that we could eat our wedding cake on our 1st anniversary!! When I looked down and saw that it was fudge, I decided to laugh rather than cry, but I'm still disappointed that we didn't get to reminisce on our wedding day over a slice of our cake.
