Today we have a doctor's appointment at 2:45 to check on baby and me. I'm sure everything will be fine and hopefully we can find out if the baby is head down or not. It's not too late for him to turn, but we're getting hear crunch time for that. I will be thrilled if he's head down and stays that way from now on. He's been moving around a lot this morning - using me as a punching bag :). I will post when we get back from the doctor to let you all know how it went!

We just got back from the doctors and all is well! I've gained a few more lbs., but nothing crazy, my blood pressure was 112/64, and the baby's heartbeat was nice and strong. Next appt. is 6/30 and they will check to see if Little Man is head down, if I've dialated any, or if I'm effaced. So next time will be when things get interesting.

We toured the hospital last night and found out that 4 people will be allowed with me while I'm in labor and delivery. One will be Matt, two will be the doula, Nicole, and three and four are up in the air. Our family and friends can rotate through as long as I'm handling visitors well. Be forewarned that I am going to try to have this baby naturally, so I probably won't be the most pleasant Margaret you've ever been around!! :) The birthing rooms are very large and have big showers that a laboring mom can stand in and relax. There is nothing I like better than a long hot shower except a long hot bath (but that won't work after my water breaks), so I was very happy to peer inside that bathroom. Matt will be allowed to videotape the whole birth, which is terrific news, and they have birthing balls and rocking chairs that laboring mothers can utilize. After he is born, as long as everything is okay, I'll be able to hold him immediately and for a while - even breastfeed right away! After about 20 minutes, they will put him in the warmer and get all his measurements, then give him back to us. About 1.5 to 2 hours after birth, they'll take him to the nursery to make sure that he is maintaining his temperature and I'll move to a postpartum room. I can have as many visitors there as I like and anyone can go see the baby as long as Matt or I are with him at all times.

Seeing all the things that we'll be seeing when he's being born was VERY exciting and makes me wish even more that he will make his arrival early.
