We're into the final month!

She could go at any time, folks. To be honest, I think he'll be here in less than two weeks but that's just my guess. We're really ready to meet the little man (which is what he's been affectionately referred to these last 8 months).

I apologize for my posting slackness during the month of June. Between work & school time has been of the essence. However, I am going to commit to at least 3 posts a week from now until the baby arrives so everyone can be in the loop as much as possible. Sayonara for now!

Hi everyone!! Again we are very sorry for the small number of posts this month. You know - you could always complain ON our blog so that it gets posts from SOMEONE!!

I had a doctor's appointment Wednesday and alas, it was pretty uneventful. They checked all the normal things and everything was good - his heartbeat is nice and strong. She was concerned about my ankles (which have been swelling quite a bit) and my back pain (which is worse some days more than others and only hurts while I'm sitting down). I'm having to be more careful with my salt intake and more concientious about keeping my feet up at night. She didn't do an internal check because I was 4 days short of being 36 weeks. They will do one next week and every week after that (hopefully there won't be TOO many more weekly appointments).

I had some cramping last week, but it was constant, didn't come in waves like contractions would, and I'm having more cramping today. Hopefully that is a sign that something is happening. At the gym yesterday, he appeared to have dropped even more so I'm seeing little signs of progress. One of my friends that is in my DynaMom class (she's due 7/10) was there Tuesday afternoon and the baby hadn't dropped, nor was she dilated or effaced at all. We were all sure that we'd see her yesterday at the very least, but she went into labor late Wednesday and had a baby girl yesterday. I'll get an update on Tuesday, but we were all flabbergasted that she could go from absolutely nothing to in labor the next day.

On Tuesday, my work threw me a surprise baby shower and let me tell you, it was amazing!! The effort that they put into everything, the number of people that showed up for the shower, and the fact that so many people bought us gifts and contributed to the big gift absolutely astounded me!! I was in tears at one point because I was so overwhelmed with their show of caring. We clearly work with some of the best people on the planet and I don't take them for granted at all. When you spend at least 9 hours a day at work, it's wonderful to be able to spend that time with people who are so awesome!

Last night I went out with my friends to celebrate my 25th birthday. It was really fun, but Matt wasn't there and I really missed him (as did everyone else). We always have such a great time with our friends and are very fortunate to have such caring people in our lives!! Tonight my mom, step-dad, and step-sister are coming up for a visit. We're going to have dinner and then my friends are coming over for cake and drinks. TODAY IS MY 25th BIRTHDAY in case you didn't know that :).

This weekend we're going to focus on finishing the nursery and tomorrow I have a shower with Matt's family. It will be good to see everyone together again before I have the baby (this will probably be the last time!).

Everyone have a terrific holiday weekend and we will keep you updated!!!!
